We are running a Ladies/ Girls Taster Event with the help of our friendly Club Pro's, Michael & Sam. The event will include two coaching sessions on the practice field and putting green, followed by sandwiches and a refreshing drink. All equipment will be provided and we recommend you wear comfortable clothing and trainers. The cost for the event is £10, but all attendees will receive a £10 voucher to spend in the Club Pro Shop. Nigel Brumpton & Phil Townsend won through the regional finals of the Mizuno Pairs winter competition. 4 rounds of 4BBB, Matchplay with wins 8 & 6 at home against Harwich, 3 & 2 at home against Lexden Wood, 1 up win away at Brett Vale (on 20th hole) and a 1 up win against Stock Brook Manor away. The delighted pair win £200 of Mizuno vouchers each.
A good week for Clacton golfers with the Leslie Wood team playing away at Stock Brook Manor, a hard-fought victory in difficult weather conditions with the team winning on the last match 8 & 7. With great support from followers and the caddies the morning paired matches were halved which meant it was all down to the afternoon singles matches to work hard for the win. The team was J Hanks, C Pickard, R Weeks, B Hawkings, C Bruce, S Yates, M Scott, M Swash, J Morris, T Chandler.
On Monday the Clacton Seniors won the Challenge Cup against Frinton 7 & 1. The rest of the Seniors played a fun stableford, Barry Pressley came first with 38pts, on countback from Mick Patey, Mark Fitch third 36pts
The Canny Ryall Cup was played on Saturday, James Crawley came with first 42pts, Damon Purll second 39pts, on countback from Jason Ranson
Coco Locke won the Pat Green Trophy with 36pts, Jay White was second 34pts, Cooper Hayes third 33pts on countback from Louie Brewer
The Ladies held their Easter Charity competition last week, Janet Hiller had another great round to win with 42pts, Di Kedge was second with 41pts, on countback from Fi Cope. The Easter raffle raised £205 which will go toward the Lady Captains charity, the Clacton Food Bank.
