Congratulations to Andrew Duffin on becoming the 2025 Champion of the Essex Seniors Championship. Gross scores of 75, 72 with an overall +5, 147 saw Andrew take the win by 5. A massive thank you to Thorndon Park GC for hosting, the course was in excellent condition with an extremely tough challenge for the competitors and some tricky pin positions, well done Andy !!!

1 Club Captain, Neil Hutchinson congratulating Fi Cope on winning the Club Captains Day prize with 41pts, Steve Hunt was second with 40pts. Captain Neil was a very generous host on the day, looking after the members on the course and at the evenings hog roast, he was very pleased to announce that he had raised £1225 for his charity - Y.E.S.

Another great golfing week for Clacton Golf Club, the Thornton Challenge Cup team had a great win playing at Colchester against Rochford Hundred on Sunday. They had an exceptional start in the morning pairs with 4 ½; going into the afternoon singles they required 3 ½. Matt Baker, Nick Tedder-Ward & Jake Wells all secured early points from the first four singles with Andy Duffin securing the vital ½ point on the 18th green to send them to the semi-finals. The remaining groups agreed to a half, making the final score 11&4.











The Junior Inter Club Youth Shield A Team of Charlie Beasley, Ashley Haddon, Jay White, Vince Chung, Coco Locke (R) & Louie Brewer are also through to their semi-finals after winning their match 4&1 against West Essex playing at Thorndon Park on Sunday, their reserve player, Coco Locke also managed to win a friendly round with the West Essex reserve.

The Seniors, led by their Captain Graham Haslam, were playing at Colchester on Monday in their away match and won 4 ½ & 3 ½, the home and away scores allowed a resounding win for Clacton 9 ½ & 6 ½ Martin Jackson won the Monday Seniors Fun competition with 42pts, Dave Needham second 39pts on countback from John Wood

Last Tuesday the ladies played for the Rachel Neal Vase & Windfall qualifier. Emma Murphy took the win with 39pts, closely followed by Emma Cole with 38pts and Helen Chung with 36pts on countback from Ann Wright.
The Mid-week medal was won by Roger Green 86-19=67, Carol Beecham Sewell was second with nett 68 and Tony Chandler third with nett 70.
