The Juniors at Clacton on Sea Golf Club have had a busy week to start off the summer holidays.
On Thursday they played a 4BBB Match against the Seniors in the George Meaking Trophy which was last played in 2013. 32 players took part and after a closely fought battle the overall result was a draw 4-4.
The 9 hole Juniors played a fun competition with the 18 hole Juniors on Saturday. The matches showed the progress being made across the Junior Section and Helen Chung is to be commended for her time and effort with the Juniors. Past Captain Steve Yates kindly sponsored the entire event and provided the prizes. 1st place went to Jay White and Charley Sallows with 49 points. Second were Louie Brewer & Joffre Hunt with 45 points.

Vince Chung played in the Essex U14 Boys Championship at Maylands and finished as runner up with a round of 85-15=70.
Coco Locke won her quarter final match in the Essex County Logan Trophy against her opponent from Garon Park at Chelmsford winning 1 up on the 18th hole.
Coco and her partner Hoon Locke also played their Hunter Foursomes Quarter Final match against The Rayleigh. They had a strong win 5 & 4 at The Burstead to go through to the Semi-Final.
Janine Wyman was the winner of the Rachel Neal Vase with 41 points and is the qualifier for the Windfall Trophy Final to be played at Brentwood Golf Club on October 5th. Diana Maddox was second with 39 points on countback from Maxine Trill.
Liz Strutt & Sonja Strutt played in the Australian Spoons Regional Final at Stowmarket and had an excellent score of 37 points. This was not enough to get through to the Grand Final however they finished in 5th place in a field of 39 pairs from all over the East Region.
Anna Cowen & Cheryl Cowdery lost their Essex County High/Low Quarter Final match at Abridge against tough opposition and although they put up a strong fight they lost 2 & 1.
The Queen Elizabeth Trophy was played on Sunday and the winners of the pairs scramble were Mick Rugg & Chris Peters with 46 points. Derek & Tania Fuller were second on count back with 45 points and third were Brett Hawkins & Joe Loudon.
The Seniors played in the Veterans Interclub Tournament which consists of 10 seniors teams from Essex. This was held at Gosfield Lake where the Clacton Seniors came a very credible 3rd place against stiff opposition.
On Monday they played for the Greens Greensomes Cup and Perry Bettis & Geoff Haslam were first with 46 points. Second place went to Steve Tunnell & John Tyler with 45 points on countback from Bob Gage & Nigel Martin.
