Our Club Captain Neil Hutchinson invites you to join in the fun at his Club Captain's Charity Day, on Thursday 18th September. This event will be supporting our Captain's Charity YES, Colchester and Tendring Youth Enquiry Service, supporting 11-25 year olds across North East Essex. The day will start at 09:00am in the Clubhouse with Coffee & Bacon Rolls, teeing off from 09:58 for a Single Stableford Competition. This will be followed by a two course dinner. The cost will be £35.00 for Members, £45.00 for Guests. There will be prizes for nearest the pins, and a prize for a 4 Ball Better Ball Team Score. If you would like to take part please enter your name on the start sheet, which can be found on the main noticeboard in the foyer. Neil looks forward to seeing you all there.

Clacton Juniors
On Saturday August 23rd Clacton Juniors met and the day was all about teamwork and learning, as our 18 and 9 hole juniors came together for a special paired competition. The format was simple but meaningful. The lowest handicap of the 18 hole juniors was paired with the highest handicap from the 9 hole juniors to play an 18 hole mixed greensomes stableford, encouraging mentorship and a whole lot of fun!
20 juniors took part in this exciting event and thanks to the generosity of our wonderful Moonlighters and members, all juniors enjoyed food and drink after the competition and the top 5 teams all received prizes!
Results as follows:

2nd Coco Locke & Joffre Hunt 43 points
3rd Cooper Hayes & Charlie Pain 42 points
4th Ashley Hodder & Reece Gaskell 42 points
5th Louie Brewer & Jasper Brewer 39 points
Summer Term 9 Hole Achievements
We also celebrated the conclusion of our 9 hole summer term competition, where juniors submitted their best four scorecards over the term. The progress has been truly inspiring! With 20 weeks completed and 10 more to go before we wrap up the year, the dedication and improvement shown by our juniors has been outstanding.

Biggest Handicap reduction goes to Samuel Board who has come down from a 53.2 handicap to 48.2 – a fantastic 5 stroke improvement!

If you would like to be a part of the Club’s juniors, memberships run from May 1st to April 30th each year. Subs are currently as follows: - for 13-17 year olds is £110.00 per annum - £2.12 a week; membership for 8-12’s is £85.00 - £1.63 a week. Under 8’s are only £20 per annum. Clacton Ladies
On Tuesday August 19th, Clacton Ladies played for the Carrington Cup for handicaps 27.60 - 54.0 and there was also a separate competition – a Stableford for the rest. Chris Gibbard won the Carrington with a very good score of 42 points, Chris was two points clear of nearest rivals Sue Martin who took 2nd place from Julia Rockell in 3rd on count back with both ladies scoring 40 points.
Helen Chung won the Stableford on count back from Louise Gaskin with both ladies scoring 39 points. Third place was also decided on count back with Paula Smith edging out Liz Strutt on count back with both ladies scoring 36 points.
Clacton Men
On Sunday 24th August, Clacton Men played for the St.Helena Hospice Salver. 115 entered the competition and in great conditions, some fantastic scores were achieved. Richard Bridger with a fantastic score of nett 64 – 7 under par took Won the Salver. Three players came in with nett 66’s and were separated on count back with Tony Toye taking second spot, Bayley Eden third place and James Crawley fourth. Six more players were just one shot back with 67’s – some really great golf; well done to all who played in the competition. £115.00 will be sent to the St. Helena Hospice charity from the Club.
