CLACTON ON SEA GOLF CLUB AND GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR) – PRIVACY STATEMENT

Some of you will be aware that on the 25th May 2018 the UK as a part of the EU are required to implement the new GDPR regulations.
Terry McConnell is the Golf Club Data Controller and the person all requests should be addressed to using the contact details at the end of this policy.
What does this mean for you? What does this mean for the Golf Club?
The rules are stricter than before and look to provide increased protection to individuals with regards to who has their data, how it is used, who will use it, how will it be stored, where will it be stored and for how long.
Post Brexit, it is unclear as to whether or not these regulations will change and how.
Clacton on Sea Golf Club holds information such as; name; address; telephone numbers; date of birth; email address; next of kin and other similar information. We do not store any of your banking details. The only financial information we store about you are; your subscription and Electronic Point Of Sale (EPOS) Club card spending. The only other information we hold are your golfing records which are not applicable if you are a social member.
What are we required to do? We need to reassure you the members that we will always guard your personal details with a strict ethical ethos. GDPR requires us to do the following;
1 Q - Tell you what information we collect about you
A - We need certain information from you in order to create your membership and to comply with the Club rules and byelaws.
2 Q - Why we use this information about you
A - To create your membership and to comply with the Club rules and byelaws.
3 Q - Any information we may share
A - We may have to share limited information with other golf clubs, your name, your club handicap, your gender. We will not share your information with any third parties. We will share your information with the Golf Club professional and 19th Catering.
4 Q - Marketing
A - We would like to send you information about competitions, events, club news which may be of interest to you, or essential course or club house alerts.
5 Q - Security of information
A - Only the office staff, Club professionals and 19th Catering will have access to your data. We work hard to keep your data safe. We use an appropriate combination of technical and organisational measures to ensure, as far as reasonably possible, your confidentiality, integrity and availability of your information is safe at all times. Paper application forms are behind cupboard doors and are kept in a locked office with restricted access.
6 Q - Access to your information and correction
A - You have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you. We will provide you with this information within one calendar month of receiving your request and verifying your identity. We will not accept verbal requests for information, or requests from anyone not authorised by you to receive this information.
You have the right to contact us if you believe that the personal information we hold about you is incorrect, or if you believe we are no longer entitled to use your personal data. If you have any questions about how we use your personal information please contact us in writing using the contact details at the end of this policy.
7 Q - Retaining your Information
A - We will not keep your personal information for longer than is reasonable.
8 Q - Complaints
A - We will always try to ensure that your personal information will be treated safely and securely. However, if you have a complaint, please write to us using the contact details at the end of this policy.
9 Q - Any changes to our Privacy Policy
A - We will review our Privacy Policy regularly and will place any updates on our website and in relevant policy communications.

This is course information. There are 18 holes open with no temporary greens. Trolleys are allowed and buggies will be allowed from Saturday the 23 March. Please stick to the fairways with trolleys and buggies at all times and follow the white lines and roped off areas. This message will only be updated if course conditions change thank you SOME GREENS WORK CARRIED OUT OVER THE LAST 2 WEEKS- greens cut and height of cut lowered tees and approaches cut and height of cut lowered fairways cut and height of cut to be lowered next week semi rough(and greens surrounds)had first couple of cuts rough had its first cut now the ground is dry enough to allow the machine on it fertilizer applied to greens(followed the greens spring work) flag holes moved tee mats brushed bins emptied daily bunkers raked and edges strimmed 2nd tee hedge to the left side removed and new posts and rope to match the right side will be put in place next week tee stones strimmed tee surrounds cut and
